‘Sell out’ to JESUS
all that you are,
Follow His Leading
no matter how far.
Deep forests so dark
or mountains so high,
Be a ‘friend’ to others
until you die.
The world’s in great ‘need’
of a friendly face,
Someone whose not ‘prejudice’
of creed, color or race.
All need to ‘see’
a friendly smile,
Someone who’ll sit
& ‘chat’ a while.
How ‘guilty’ we are, Lord
of not ‘reflecting’ You,
In our ‘actions’ & ‘attitudes’
when we’re feeling ‘blue’.
We ‘talk’ & ‘say’
all these ‘good notions’,
We even ‘read them’
in our ‘devotions’.
But to actually DO
what Your Word says to do,
We say, "Well ‘brother’
He’s talking to you!"
Oh, help us, dear Lord
to ‘live’ what we read
To help our ‘neighbors’
by doing ‘good deeds’.
To ‘reach out’ in their pain
& feel it ourselves,
To be ‘usable’ to You
instead of ‘sitting on shelves’!
‘Unwilling’, ‘unable’ to help another
Especially one who is our ‘brother’!
Equip us TODAY ~
with Your Holy Spirit,
THEN we can help
& ‘cheerfully’ do it!
