"I HAD 'NO CHOICE'!"

{Poem Book 4}
I had 'no choice'
in the 'family' God put me in,
Where 'things' would happen to me
to cause my deep dark sin.
I used it as a 'crutch'
to blame my sins upon,
Thinking that would help me
when I 'felt like' doing wrong!
God knew it from the start
yet He placed me there,
For He knew that it would shape me
& one day I'd come to 'despair'.
For, until that time came
I'd never 'really' looked up,
I did what 'I' wanted
& didn't care, with Him, to sup.
I'd even put the blame on Him
like Adam did of old, *
"Well, if YOU hadn't done thus & so
I wouldn't be so cold!"
My love for God was cold *
as all I thought about was 'self',
But, my despair led me to CHRIST
& I received a 'Heavenly' wealth.
More riches & Treasure
than you could ever hold,
As I CLUNG to The One
made of 'purest' Gold.
He 'used' my past to set me free *
& worked it together for my good, *
All because I 'surrendered' to Him
& now seek to do just what I should. *
I still slip & fall right on my face *
but repent quickly to my Lord, *
I learned my lesson well, you know
right from The BOOK ~ His 'Sword'! *
Now my advice to you, my friend
is stop 'blaming' God & others,
Although we had 'no choice' in whom
would be our fathers or mothers.
We DO have a 'choice' you know *
where we'd like to spend Eternity,
By 'choosing' GOD or the devil *
while down on bended knee!
