We must be careful lest PRIDE overtake us
when others speak ‘well’ of us,
As it is more deadly to be ‘popular’
than to have ‘persecution’ laid on us!
For ‘pride’ goes before a fall *
when we start to ‘haughty’ be, *
As God does not lift us up
so we can stomp on thee! *
We must let God be Glorified *
& stay down on our knee! *
It is good to ‘encourage’ one another *
but be careful how you ‘receive’ it,
Don’t let it ‘go to your head’
& never believe ‘you’ did it! *
For God is our ‘only’ strength *
& it is He Who lifts us up,
Believe me when I say to you
we could never drink HIS Cup! *
Unless, of course, we’re ‘willing’ to die
& a ‘servant’ to others be, *
Humbling ourselves before each other *
that ‘His Grace’ may fall on thee! *
