"GOD’S ‘ANGER’!"

(Poem Book 5)
Help us Lord to ‘understand’ Your ‘anger’
& not deny its existence,
For it is not like ours, you know
which is full of ‘unforgiveness’!
Your ‘anger’ is very slow *
& comes only after ‘repeated’ warnings,
For we’ve grieved Your Heart &
our ‘disobedience’ ~ the rod it brings!
Like a parent with their children
whose ‘love’ is very great,
Does not want to see them
fail to enter ‘Life’s Gate’!
Your ‘anger’ is but for a moment *
to ‘cleanse’ us of our sin,
So we can gain the ‘victory’
& ‘forever’ win!
But, if we don’t ‘repent’
Your ‘anger’ is eternal, *
As You are ‘True & Just’
& Your Justice is supernal!
You can control Your ‘anger’
there is no ‘lingering resentment’,
No ‘bitterness’ exists in You
but only ‘sweet contentment’.
Contentment in the fact
that we won’t ‘burn’,
IF we ‘heed’ Your rod
& never from it spurn!
For the ‘chastening rod’ is better
than forever burning in hell,
So respect God’s ‘anger’, my child
& all will turn out swell.
For, remember, it’s up to us
how long God’s ‘anger’ lasts,
The ‘sooner’ we repent & turn
His ‘anger’ will be in the past.
No longer held against us
nor ‘brought up’ at a later date,
‘Forgiven’ & ‘forgotten’
when we reach The City Gates. *
Christ’s shed Blood has ‘covered’ *
every ‘confessed’ & forgiven wrong,
For He has washed & cleansed us
& helped us sing a brand new song.
So, my dear children
please ‘understand’ God’s Heart,
He LOVES you & will chasten you *
so you ‘won’t’ depart!
